Cuba, January 2016:
Old Town Havana

Among other sights:

  • a knife sharpener on bicycle;
  • former Batista-era mansions of the long-departed wealthy now used as embassies;
  • a centuries-old fort now used as a police station;
  • street sweepers, the most unsung heroes of the revolution;
  • construction workers using the street as their cement mixer;
  • streetside booksellers stocked with the writings of and about Che, Fidel, Marx, etc. in the Plaza De Armas; and
  • a statue in the Plaza Vieja dedicated to the prostitutes of Havana and everywhere.
