Cuba, January 2016:
Tobacco Farm, Viñales

The Valle de Viñales is a UNESCO World Heritage site in northwest Cuba, noted both for its stunning beauty and its agricultural history. The best tobacco in Cuba is grown here on organic farms that in some cases are still being operated by the very same (and now very old) people who worked for the former landowners before the revolution. I just missed getting a shot of the wrinkeld farmer holding his fingers like rabbit ears over his wife's head in their little farm kitchen - they were very friendly, and we were thrilled to have one of their sons (we think it was a son) give us a cigar rolling demo. Everyone in my family tried our first puff of cigar smoke ever - who could resist?
