PHOTO GALLERY: American Beauties & Embodied Groove at Ashkenaz

American Beauties played two sets of (mostly) Grateful Dead music at Ashkenaz in Berkeley on Friday night. Dr. Leah Taylor kicked it off with a n Embodied Groove experience to warm up the crowd's hearts and bodies.

The show was a celebration of female soul and sound honoring the legacy of Donna Jean Godchaux-MacKay and Bob Weir. American Beauties and their guests included Sunshine Becker, Anna Elva, Nancy Wenstrom, Jen Rund, Richelle Scales, Nate LaPointe, Cheryl Rucker, Jenna Mammina, Jennifer Freebairn, and Liv Zutphen.
